To Change
It has been a while since I last wrote. Over a year. Yikes. A lot has changed in a year. I finished my first year at Concordia University in Seward, NE. I’m now one year closer to getting my K-12 Art Education degree. The Art Chapel finalized construction and is now fully operational. Which is exciting and nervewracking. I got engaged to Jay Bernadt. Then we got married. My sister and brother in law are expecting. Both my siblings are in the process of moving. There is a lot of change that I didn’t mention. And I know that more change is yet to come. Both the expected and unexpected kind. This is…to change.
While things are always changing,
It’s change that stays the same,
A constant within our lives,
Yet we don’t like its name,
Everytime it comes around,
We protest and we complain,
Fearful that what is coming,
Will hurt and bring us pain,
And pain it may come,
Doubt and fear close behind,
But during time of change,
I hope you are not blind,
To the fact change is constant,
But isn’t God constant too?
When we struggle to embrace it,
Isn’t it Him that gets us through?
Through the good and the bad,
Through all the times of unknown,
Isn’t He mightier than it all?
Isn’t it He on the throne?
Next time change comes around,
I hope you do not forget,
To lean on the Lord our God,
Who is continually constant.
